CELTIC CROSS

The celtic cross has its roots in a pre-Christian variation of the Solar cross.  Examples date as far back as 5000 years BC and its origins are not known. The Solar cross is probably the oldest religious symbol in the world, appearing in Asian, American, European and Indian religious art. It represents the movements of the sun.

GAIA  -  MOTHER EARTH

Her beginnings are a mystery ~~

She was  born from Chaos,

the great void of emptiness.

At this time, Tartarus, of the Underworld, and Eros, Erotic Love, came into being. And Gaia then gave birth to Uranus [the Universe], Sea and Sky. Uranus showered her with  love and this fertile rain gave birth to the rest of creation.

She represents great love for her children as She provides for us, giving us all that we need to live a bountiful and joyous life.

THE PENTACLE

The five pointed star is placed within

a circle, representing the Goddess of

wisdom and protection.

right upper point - water,  emotions

right lower point - fire, courage

left lower point - earth,  physical endurance

left upper point - air, arts, intelligence

top point -  spirit, divine

The pentacle can teach us to bring spirit to earth.

THE SACRED OAK TREE

Trees were our ancestors,

elder beings who brought wisdom and connection to Spirit.

Daur is the Celtic name for Oak,  the doorway to the Otherworld and realm of the Fairy.

The name for the Celtic Priestly class is Druid, meaning

oak and wise.

SWAN

In Celtic tradition the Swan is associated with deities of

healing waters

and the sun.

They are associated with music, love, purity and the soul.

HARE

The emotion fear,  is often associated with Hare or Rabbit.

But the lesson taught by this animal is about looking at our fears and learning from them.

We may even actually become that which we fear the most,

just by facing our inner truth.

OTTER

Playfulness,  curiosity and feminine medicine are the qualities that Otter can teach to both women and men.

Earth and water are her elements. Otter is never jealous and can share love with all.

THE UNICORN & THE TRUTH

The Unicorn is a kindred race, bound to us in love and service.

And in the Time of

Great Purification,

a time of choice between light and darkness, Unicorn will come to us with dreams of a brighter age.

It will be in our hearts that we will see this spirit being in its true image so that we may

become one with this dream.
